I'm not your typical handyman. I actually do this work because I love it! And my background has uniquely prepared me to be a truly great handyman.
I spent about 10 years as the "fixit guy" for all of my friends and family --- as a hobby --- never charged a dime. Every phone call was basically, "Hey, Matt, could you come by and take a look at __________?" And I really enjoyed that.
During that time my job (that I got paid for) was merchandising, mostly in Lowe's and Home Depot. So, I was the guy who reset the shelves and updated the displays. And this gave me a real wealth of product knowledge about EVERY kind of product in those stores.
In 2016 I started wondering if I could make a living being the "fixit guy". I put an ad on Craigslist, was doing my first job that day, and I have been a full time handyman ever since! It's actually the best job I've ever had!
